Rapid Review of Medicine in Old Age

I tend to like books published by the ‘Manson’ publishing company e.g. the very popular ‘rapid review of medicine for the mrcp’ – mainly because they have excellent image quality and a reasonably lucid text. This book obviously has a geratology focus but clearly this is still mainly general medicine and therefore the book is mainly useful for SHOs wanting to improve their general knowledge and contribute towards learning for the MRCP althought if you have limited resources you would go for other specific MRCP bookds first. I would say the cases tend to be fairly barn door and the questions are there mainly to facilitate the cases rather than the reasoning power of the candidate. Overall i would say this is a pretty book which one would read once and then pass on.
This is a very excellent book for a rapid review in Geriatric medicine especially for speciality certificate examination.
It follows MRCP case scenario style. I see that book is not referenced which is a negative point so you can not extend on what you have read. However, I find it a very good book.
